Eve was born in London England the daughter of actor Trevor Eve and Sharon Maughan. She was raised in Los Angeles, in California and the United Kingdom. She went to Bedales School and then took her A-Levels in Westminster School in London. She took English at St Catherine's College Oxford during the year of gap. She was in Oxford to take part in student productions that included An Ideal Husband Animal Crackers as well as The Colour of Justice. Eve has starred in television dramas, including BBC's The Rotters Club Poirot and Hawking and the film Stage Beauty (2004). Eve played important roles in two movies from 2006: Starter for 10 & Big Nothing. Both she as well as Simon Pegg acted with American accents. She spent a large portion and the latter part of 2006 in India working on an action mini-series called Lost Gemma about backpackers. Eve has been in two productions both produced by Trevor Nunn. In 2006 she appeared on stage in Rock n Roll a new play composed by Tom Stoppard at the Royal Court Theatre and then reprised her part in 2007's Broadway transfer. For her performance she was awarded the best support actress prize during the Whatsonstage.com Theatregoers' Choice Awards. She portrayed Roxane in the Chichester Festival Theatre. The actress was born into a mixed-race family, with and Indo British dad Anthony Mitra of British descent as well as the Irish born Irish mom Nora Downey. She is an English actress, who is older she has two brothers. Jason Mitra (older brother) and Guyan Mitra (younger brother). The younger brother is a reporter who has published her work in Lonely Planet, The Sunday Times and many other magazines.
